Would You Rather Spend $478 Or $3070 On Your Home Lighting Electric Cost

Well your probably spending that much or more. Believe it or not lighting in your home is about 25% of your total electric usage.  You pay the electric company by the amount of energy you use which is called watts.  LED bulbs use only 1-20 watts of energy (comparable to a 5-100 bulb) so you use approximately 80% less electric.  That saves you 80% of your cost on lighting your home.

Lets use your regular 60 watt light bulb as an example compared to an LED replacement.  Sure you can go to your local store and by a 60 watt bulb for 50 cents compared to an LED replacement for 14 bucks.  Hey that’s a lot of money right?  Well it sure looks like it is but let us take a look at the entire picture.  You might want to sit down for this shocker.

Pretty amazing right!  In reality, based on a savings of $13.55 a year ($260 total / 20 years), it would take only about one year to pay for that LED replacement bulb in the above example.

Look in your kitchen, living room, family room, bedrooms and outside and count how many bulbs you use.  5 lights? 10 Lights? 15 lights? Wouldn’t you like to save $70 every year? Save $140 every year?  Save $210 every year? Some LED bulbs last for up to 50,000 hours (10 to 15 times longer than most halogen lamps and up to 40 times more than most incandescent bulbs). So it will be years before you ever have to replace a bulb.

Think of the bulbs you are using now what they are really costing you.  Below is a energy calculator for you to play with so you can see what bulbs you are using now actually cost you.
